About Us
Kelsey Powell, MA, LPC, NCC
Zamira Khan, MA, LPCC
My name is Kelsey Powell, I am a Colorado native who is passionate about holistic health. When I became a counselor I decided that I wanted to understand others suffering and value them as a whole person. Part of my core belief is that each facet of your life and self contribute to your overall health. In the counseling process I try to explore with you all parts of self and integrate them to restore balance and help you to achieve your goals.
I believe that humans are meaning-making creatures, part of the process in counseling is to continually draw clients into deeper meaning of past and present circumstances. I also utilize different therapeutic approaches such as existentialism, DBT, and family systems to help bring greater clarity into yourself and systems you are a part of. I specialize with older adult populations, anxiety and depression, crisis intervention, spiritual issues, and emotional regulation.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Colorado, am a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary. I cannot wait to meet you and begin working alongside you.
My name is Zamira, I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado Denver, and completed my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University.
I use cognitive behavioral therapy with my clients which primarily involves talk therapy. I want to ensure that I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for clients. I also utilize mindfulness, and some person centered approaches which ensure that I tailor the experience to fit the needs of my individual client. I want to help empower my clients by teaching them coping skills to deal with different problems. I believe that your thoughts, and attitudes can impact your feelings and actions.
In my spare time, I enjoy trying new restaurants, baking and spending time with my dog Zoey.
